If you’re a creative person, then you’re probably also a dreamer. A dreamer is a person who thinks about and often envisions what they’d like to create and how they’d like their dreams to impact their lives. It takes courage to pursue your dreams.
Walt Disney once said, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. ”But sometimes the dream you have for your creative side might not be as successful as you’d hoped. In fact, you might have days or even months where it seems like failure is all you achieve. If that sounds like you, you’re in good company. Before he became a household name, Walt Disney was fired from his job because his boss thought he wasn’t creative enough. He didn’t give up after that or other setbacks. Instead, he kept persevering until his dreams came true. Don’t give up just because your dreams haven’t happened yet. Keep creating Art!
My dream is to have my own photo studio for pet and product photography. Right now I’m more than halfway there. I have a small home studio and looking to grow. I’m in the process of remodeling my living room, so I can photograph lifestyle pet and product photos with a nice living room scene. I just ordered a new light blue couch, grey rug, and light cream curtains.
I’m trying to decide what to do for the wall behind the couch. Right now there is a giant gold mirror with egrets etched into that was my Grandfathers and I really like it but I’m going to need to move it to a different wall because my photo lights would reflect and show in the large mirror. I’m debating between getting some floating shelves to put on the wall, so I can put small plants and products on the shelves or creating a large canvas with one of my photos. For the canvas photo I’m debating between a white orchid, white rose, black and white close-up of one of my cats faces, or a beach scene. I’m trying to find something generic but unique with one of my own photos that will look good behind the couch when I photograph products with cats and dogs on or in front of the couch such as cat toys, cat beds, dog toys, and more.
I’m also looking to get a new coffee table and debating between a light wood, dark wood or white coffee table. I’m actually looking to get a fold-up one so that when I’m not using it for product photographing I can slide it under the couch to keep it pristine for product photo shoots. If you have any decoration suggestions please comment.
If you have any products for pets or humans that you would like photographed in my new living room lifestyle scene please contact me.
I’m dreaming for the future and working on making my dream happen piece by piece.
What’s your dream?

Floating shelves sound like a good idea, you can easily create a new scenery. As for the coffee table, have you considered wood that is painted white?
I like signs made from blackboard-like material. Maybe even one of these movie clapperboard, just for the fun of it.
You could write the name of the pet or product you’re photographing on it.
Good luck!

Great Ideas. I like the idea of the movie clapperboard. Thanks so much for the inspiration.

I’m with Tamara about being able to change the theme on floating shelves. Your clients could even bring their own items to put on them for a really unique and personalized photos. I had a dream over 55 years ago about starting a sewing business. I started small in my home, and grew as the years passed. I opened an interior decorating showroom with an in house drapery workroom where my hubby and I made all the window treatments. My dream came through and my motto is, “If you want to explore deeper oceans, you first have to leave sight of the shore>”

Hi Amanda,
Big dreams take small consecutive actions. It sounds like you are upgrading your pet photography studio right at the speed you need to! Keep up the great work!
Do you have a dream board? That is what I use to print out my dreams so I can see them everyday. Then I take them down when I have reached that dream and replace with a new one. You can create your dream studio right now on your board and watch as everything materializes as you imagined.
My dream since I was a child was to change our education system so that we can learn at any age, from any location, any time, any place, and from anyone we choose. I wrote in journals when I was young and then started creating dream boards as an adult. Those tools helped me get through all levels of school, start a nonprofit for education, and create a lifestyle that makes me very happy and healthy.
Thank you for sharing your BIG dreams. Sending you lots of luck, light, and love. Best regards.
Jaime
